Is It Possible To Get Rid Of Acne?

Acne affects millions of people, costs billions in treatment, and punishes people with emotional and psychological problems. Is it possible to get rid of acne? Permanently? Effectively? Forever?

Learn to accept it.

Let’s just face it. Acne is a fact of life. Since 90% of the population gets it, and since science does not yet have a cure, we simply need to accept the fact of acne and move on. It’s not a new fact of life, either. Acne has been around for millennia. Yes, it’s difficult, but yes, we need to accept it.

Learn to treat it.

Just as you should accept acne, you should also understand that it is treatable. Treatable isn’t the same as curable. There are acne medications of every conceivable variety—acne rubs, acne creams, acne cleansers, acne glue, acne guns, acne preventatives, acne detox, acne foods, acne medicines, acne washcloths, acne facemasks, acne spot treatments, acne wipes, acne lights, and just about anything else. Find a treatment that fits your acne, fits your budget, and fits you. Not all treatments are the same. Not all treatments are equally effective.

Learn to handle it correctly.

There are different types of acne. Some acne is severe—affecting large portions of the body with severe acne for an extended period of time. Other acne is mild—the occasional zit, blackhead, or whitehead. Determine what level of treatment you need based on the severity of your acne.

Learn that no treatment will totally clear you up.

It’s important to realize that there is no such thing as an acne treatment that will permanently end your acne woes. You should use what treatments are available, and do your best to handle your acne, but acne will always cause some level of blemish.

Learn that acne usually goes away.

After time, acne will pass. Usually, acne is confined to a specific phase and life, and although it may recur, the severity of the acne is only for a time. Acne usually passes by the time someone reaches the early to mid twenties.
